In the News: TextileWorld and Nonwovens Industry report on Avery Dennison

January 2021 - News of a white paper detailing how ISO-certified diaper materials can help save the lives of preterm babies appeared in TextileWorld and other top media venues. Nonwovens Industry magazine quoted insightful comments on sustainability by Business Unit Director Derek Jones.
The white paper, which is available to download here, includes statistics concerning the proliferation of prematurely born babies and the world’s expanding elder population. It addresses corresponding needs for diaper materials designed to help prevent injury due to the improper selection and application of diaper materials, tapes and closures.
A key point from the white paper:
“Abrasions caused by application and removal of diaper tapes when coming into contact with the skin can quickly lead to more severe conditions and even death. Protecting the skin integrity of both newborns and elderly starts by choosing and using the right diapers and diaper closure systems.”
In a January 2021 Nonwovens Industry article titled “Hygiene Suppliers Go Natural,” Editor Karen McIntyre reached out to Avery Dennison Personal Care Business Unit Director Derek Jones for his knowledge of increasing demand for sustainable products.
In the story, Jones notes that: “Nearly all of our key customers are asking for sustainable and environmentally friendly products....Sustainability is a value we live by every day and is core to Avery Dennison’s business philosophy. We see sustainability not only as a responsibility but also as an opportunity—to lead and to invent. By developing environmentally responsible closure solutions, we can contribute to a greener world.”
