Avery Dennison tapes for open incontinence briefs come in precombined Y-bond rolls that ensure permanent adhesion to the back ear of the brief.

The three-layer option includes a colored “target tape” central layer that acts as a built-in landing zone. After the first closure of the brief, the fastening tape can be released from this target tape without tearing the backsheet. The brief can then be reclosed either back onto the target tape, or elsewhere onto the brief’s backsheet.

These three-layer tapes are manufactured with a filmic base, and with an optional nonwoven fastening tape for a more premium look and feel. They are typically used on either polypropylene nonwoven or polyethylene film backsheets. Available in varying widths to accommodate a wide range of brief sizes, these tapes can be custom imprinted for branding purposes. The filmic three-layer tape option is typically used in combination with a frontal film or tape landing zone to ensure reclosing.

The closure system is based on pressure-sensitive hotmelt adhesives and comes either in a Y-bond precombined or double coated tapes configuration. The Y-bond ensures the most solid bond, as these adhesives are engineered to perform, even as the brief material undergoes the stress and strain of wear.
